DescriptionThis professional learning session focuses on eight high-impact classroom practices that increase instructional time and student engagement. When these practices are implemented consistently, they create structured, predictable classrooms where students spend more time actively learning and less time in disruption or transition.

Participants will explore the two key outcomes of effective classroom practices:
Increasing Instructional Time
- Classroom Expectations
- Classroom Procedures and Routines
- Encouraging Expected Behavior
- Discouraging Inappropriate Behavior

Increasing Student Engaged Time
- Active Supervision
- Opportunities to Respond
- Activity Sequencing and Choice
- Task Difficulty

During the session, educators will:
- Examine how these practices support MTSS Tier 1 instruction and classroom management
- Reflect on current classroom implementation
- Identify specific strategies to increase student engagement and reduce lost instructional time
- Develop actionable steps for strengthening these practices in their classrooms

This session emphasizes practical, research-based strategies that teachers can implement immediately to create classrooms where expectations are clear, students are actively engaged, and learning time is maximized.
