DescriptionSection ImageDay 1 JUNE 13:
Secondary leadership teams will survey individual and collective core beliefs that will guide their work and review the historical perspectives of NeMTSS. Teams will recognize MTSS as a framework for continuous improvement and explore the NeMTSS Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) template. There will also be an opportunity to analyze Implementation Science and its impact on effectively building a MTSS framework. Each team will adopt a problem solving model, acknowledge its use at all levels, and practice using it. Finally, teams will take stock of current data sources and begin organizing them into a balanced assessment plan as well as engage in an informal resource inventory of curriculum and instructional practices and include them in their Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP).

Day 2 JUNE 14:
Secondary leadership teams will start by reflecting on teaming for problem solving and setting school level team norms. To reduce redundancy, teams will reflect on all current teams and plans in place at the school level and complete an alignment and integration activity to streamline efforts and resources. There will be an opportunity to begin examining their current Tier 1 Core Practices to ensure all students have access to equitable and inclusive learning environments. Teams will review evidence-based and High Quality Instructional Materials and use their problem solving model to refine tier one core practices in the areas of assessment, instruction, and curriculum. To conclude, teams will begin secondary-level action planning using data to problem solve and drive decision making with a whole child approach, as well as develop a professional learning plan linked to the goals and a communication plan.
